Independence Policy

Last updated: March 28, 2026

Telehealth Ally is on the patient’s side. We help people compare telehealth providers by price, clinical protocol, and verified outcomes — and our rankings are never influenced by money. We run a commercial business, and we want to be direct about how that works and why it doesn’t compromise our coverage.

How We Make Money

We generate revenue in two ways:

Lead generation fees. When a patient requests a consultation through our platform, the provider pays us a flat fee. This is similar to how insurance brokers work — the provider pays for the introduction, not you. The fee is the same regardless of how we rank that provider. A provider ranked fifth pays the same rate as one ranked first.

Premium profile features.Providers can pay to enhance their profile with additional information — extended Q&As, team photos, office details. The upgrade affects presentation only; it has no bearing on ranking calculations. A provider with a premium profile and poor patient outcomes ranks below one with a free profile and strong outcomes.

What we do not do:

  • We do not accept payment to rank a provider higher
  • We do not accept payment to remove or suppress negative reviews
  • We do not accept affiliate commissions that vary by provider — variable commissions would create a direct financial incentive to favor certain providers over others
  • We do not run paid “sponsored content” that is presented as independent editorial

How Our Rankings Work

Rankings are calculated from five inputs: verified patient reviews, pricing transparency, clinical protocol quality, prescriber qualifications, and customer service ratings.

No provider can purchase a better ranking position. New providers receive a ranking score only after we have collected sufficient verified data — a provider with ten reviews and a 4.2 rating ranks higher than a provider with a paid profile and no verified reviews.

If we ever introduce sponsored placements in search results or provider lists, they will be visually labeled “Sponsored” and excluded from our ranking algorithm. As of March 2026, we have no sponsored placements.

Our Editorial Process

Pricing data is manually verified and updated monthly. We check provider websites directly and note the date of verification. If a price has changed since our last check, we say so.

Clinical protocols are reviewed by our editorial team against published prescribing guidelines and provider documentation. We do not take provider marketing copy at face value.

Patient reviews are verified against treatment history before publication. We do not publish reviews we cannot tie to a real patient interaction.

Correctionsare published publicly. If we have an error — pricing, protocol detail, factual claim — we correct it in the article with a visible note and the date the correction was made. We do not quietly edit and republish without noting the change.

What We Will Never Do

  • Accept payment to change a ranking
  • Suppress a verified negative review at a provider’s request
  • Misrepresent a provider’s pricing or protocol
  • Publish sponsored content without clear disclosure
  • Rank a provider we haven’t independently evaluated
  • Allow a provider’s advertising spend to influence our editorial coverage

Hold Us Accountable

If you believe we have violated these standards — if a ranking looks wrong, if pricing data is stale, if a review appears fabricated — tell us. We take these reports seriously and investigate every one.

If we made an error, we will correct it, publish the correction, and explain what went wrong.
