Paid for premium care but couldn't afford the follow-up fees
I chose Defy specifically because I wanted a comprehensive approach — labs, video consults, real medical oversight. What I didn't fully grasp was that every touchpoint has a separate charge. Initial consult $249. Labs $180. First medication $310. Two-month follow-up consult $125. When I called to ask whether the follow-up could be a messaging exchange instead to save money, I was told all follow-ups require a billable appointment. At month four my out-of-pocket had crossed $1,200 and I couldn't justify continuing. The medication worked — I was down 14 lbs — and the clinical quality was legitimate. But the fee-for-everything model makes it impossible to sustain on a modest income. Other services include follow-ups in the base subscription. Defy should too.

Lab panels plus peptide protocol changed my life at 52
I'd been on testosterone replacement for two years with another telemedicine company and never felt fully optimized. Defy ran a full metabolic panel, thyroid, and hormone panel at intake — more bloodwork than my PCP had ordered in a decade. My provider spotted low IGF-1 and added sermorelin to my semaglutide protocol. Six months later I'm down 34 lbs, sleep is the best it's been in years, and my A1c dropped from 6.2 to 5.6. The $249 initial consult felt steep, but that one appointment uncovered issues I didn't know I had. Every follow-up has been a real video call, not a questionnaire. Worth every dollar.

Video consult with a real specialist, not a PA reading off a script
I've done three telehealth GLP-1 services and the typical experience is a PA who asks two questions and approves whatever dose you want. My Defy Medical consult was 40 minutes with a physician who had clearly reviewed my intake form and previous health history. He asked about my sleep, stress levels, and family history before deciding on a protocol. We landed on semaglutide 0.5mg with PT-141 for energy and a follow-up lab draw at 90 days. It's been 5 months and my weight is down 28 lbs. The pricing is higher than budget options, but you're paying for actual medical expertise, not a rubber stamp.

Finally a provider who actually reads my labs
I switched to Defy after two years at a GLP-1-only telemedicine service that never ordered a single blood test. My Defy provider reviewed my labs before the consult, came prepared with questions, and suggested adding BPC-157 for the joint pain I'd mentioned on my intake form — without me bringing it up. I'm on tirzepatide 5mg and BPC-157 250mcg daily, and three months in I'm down 19 lbs with substantially less knee discomfort. The separate lab fees are annoying — I paid about $180 for the initial panel — but the quality of care justifies it.

Good provider, slow medication shipping in first month
The onboarding experience was genuinely impressive — real video consult, detailed intake review, provider who knew my history before we spoke. Then my first medication shipment took 16 days to arrive. I had two follow-up messages go unanswered for four days during that wait. Once the medication arrived, things smoothed out considerably. My provider is responsive on routine check-ins and the titration schedule has felt appropriate. I'm on tirzepatide 2.5mg, down 9 lbs in two months. Solid service once you get past the first month.

Great medical team, confusing fee structure
The clinical experience at Defy is genuinely excellent. My provider is knowledgeable, responsive on the portal, and adjusted my tirzepatide dose based on lab results rather than just my self-reported symptoms. My issue is the pricing transparency — I budgeted $249 for the initial consult and $300/mo for medication, but then got a separate $165 lab invoice and a $75 follow-up fee I hadn't expected. By month three I'd figured out the full cost structure, but I wish they put all the numbers clearly upfront. Down 24 lbs in five months. Just go in expecting the full picture will take a billing cycle to understand.

13 years in business shows — these people know peptides
Done my homework before picking a peptide clinic. Most telemedicine companies launched peptide programs in 2024 as a trend. Defy has been doing this since 2013 — and that longevity shows when you're asking a provider to design a CJC-1295/ipamorelin plus semaglutide stack. My provider understood the interactions, set realistic expectations for the growth hormone pulse response, and scheduled a follow-up at 6 weeks instead of just sending meds. I'm 4 months into the protocol and down 22 lbs with noticeably better recovery after workouts. One of very few telehealth outfits I'd recommend for anything beyond basic GLP-1.

Solid clinical quality, but the upfront cost is a real barrier
The clinical quality at Defy is the best I've encountered in telehealth. My provider actually called me back when I had a question about nausea — not a portal message, an actual phone call. The cost is another story. Initial consult $249, lab panel $180, first medication order $290. I paid over $700 before I felt any effect from the medication. I'm a teacher and that was a significant stretch. I'm down 11 lbs at month three, but I've had to budget carefully to keep the subscription going. Top-tier care that a lot of people simply can't afford.

BPC-157 plus semaglutide stack worked better than I expected
I came to Defy primarily for BPC-157 after a shoulder injury that wasn't responding well to PT. My provider suggested combining it with a low-dose semaglutide protocol since I'd been trying to lose about 20 lbs anyway. Four months in, the shoulder is significantly less inflamed and I'm down 17 lbs. The stacking approach is what separates Defy from simpler services. My main criticism is that messaging response times vary — sometimes I get a reply within hours, other times it's two days. For routine questions that's fine, but when I had a side effect question after a dose adjustment, the wait was stressful.

Hormone optimization plus GLP-1 — the combo is underrated
My primary reason for choosing Defy was TRT. The semaglutide add-on came after my provider looked at my labs and noticed my testosterone was on the low end of normal, which she said can slow GLP-1 response. We optimized my testosterone protocol first, then added semaglutide at 0.5mg. In 4 months I've lost 21 lbs, which tracks faster than my first attempt at GLP-1 alone with a different service. The downside is that managing two separate medication costs adds up quickly — I'm at roughly $550/month all-in. For people who just want weight loss and nothing else, a simpler service might make more financial sense.

Gold standard for peptide therapy
Been with Defy for over two years on CJC/Ipa and BPC-157. The doctors actually know their stuff — my protocol has been adjusted three times based on labs. Worth the higher consultation fee.
